2020 Vision?
We’ve been focusing our efforts on imagining the future graduate for several months now.
In his blog, Weblogg-ed, which I was reading this evening, Will Richardson referred readers to Karl Fisch’s blog at Arapahoe High School in Colorado where they are pondering the same thing. Karl Fisch created the following video describing his vision of the graduate of 2020.
It’s a thought-provoking 15 minute view of a fantastical and yet imaginable future.

What a great idea–to just brainstorm some “future worlds” our students may be living in!
Any ideas or comments about your own 2020 vision?

Wow! Makes me want to buy stock in Google!! These are some great innovative dreams that I don’t think are far from reality. The Google Premium seems to be the most logical – an all in one OS environment that gives you access to all of Google’s Tools.
The GCar – hmmmmm – not so much!
The entire presentation is very interesting. I enjoy the format and it does offer a look into what the future may hold.

I liked his idea of the unusual company mergers. It’s not that far-fetched really–UPS now provides all sorts of services for other companies, like repairing computers and shipping them back to the buyer, etc.
A-bay made me laugh–I loved his concept of buyers who won’t accept a price unless they can negotiate or bid on it.
I also thought his vision of the cheap laptops–it reminded me of how expensive calculators were when they first came out, but now people give them away as freebies at conventions!
I wonder if the GCar could fly?
